Are you looking for a way to get more involved in Forest Hills or help out inside the school? Check out these two options: Sharing Inspiration Volunteer Program: This program allows community members to get involved in the school during school hours. Following the screening application you're able to volunteer in classrooms, the lunch room, or library during the school day. Participants can specify the times and hours available to accommodate any schedule. Mrs. Merickel will soon be organizing the next book fair and is looking for volunteers to help staff the in-person book fair for students. If you are interested in this or any other volunteer area, complete the screening application here. Helping Hands Volunteer Program:
Participants meet at school on a monthly basis to help complete projects from teachers, staff and the PTO. They complete the projects at school and can also help with take-home projects. This year all Helping Hands sessions will be after school from 2:30-4 pm on the following dates:
Email Molly Hayes at [email protected] to be added to the email distribution regarding these opportunities. The Raise Craze Kindness Fundraiser wrapped up last week and both the financial and kindness goals were reached! Our students and Forest Hills families raised $17,827 and students completed over 2,000 acts of kindness! Money will be used towards new playground equipment and students will receive a pizza party during lunch in recognition of their kindness. Thank you so much for all your support during this fundraiser. We appreciate our Forest Hills community so much!
Now, as we head in to our last day, we hope you and your family will take some time to focus on kindness. Random Acts of Kindness Day is Thursday, February 17 (that's today!), so what better way to recognize the day than finishing up some acts of kindness for our Kindness Fundraiser? You can log your acts of kindness and get ideas for more on the website. Help your student write a note of thanks to a Forest Hills staff person, draw a picture for a special friend or sibling, or spread kindness in the community with sidewalk art or placemats for Meals on Wheels. We are so appreciative of all the ways the community got involved in this event. Thank you!
